Lodhi Garden: Visit Wonderful Place in Delhi

The Lodhi Garden is situated in the city of Delhi in India. It extends over an area of 90 acres approximately. This garden contains the Tomb of Sikander Lodhi, Tomb of Mohammad Shah, Bada Gumabad and Sheesh Gumbad. The garden depicts the architectural style of the 15th century. The Sheesh Gumbad got its name because of the use of the glazed tiles in the construction. This gumabad was also built during the reign of Sikander Lodhi.

The tomb of Sikander Lodi is still enclosed by battlements. It is connected to the Yamuna River with some remains of water course. Adjacent to the tomb of Sikander Lodhi, there is a bridge which is known as the Athpula Bridge i.e. eight pierced bridge. It is one of the last buildings built by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar during his reign. There are seven arches in the building; out of them the central one is the largest.


One can see the Mohammed Shah’s tomb from the road. It is the most basic structure of gardens.
