Chaugan: The Unexplored Village of India

The village of Chaugan is located in the heart of the Madya Pradesh. This place is situated near the Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary. The beauty of this village was also appreciated by famous writer Rudyard Kipling. The tribes of Gond and Bagia are the major residents of this place. The village of Chaugan

has been declared the dream village by the Tourism Ministry of the Indian Government. The surroundings of the village are decorated with the river of Narmada, the tiger reserve of Kanha and the tribal village of Baiga.
The major tourist attractions of Chaugan include the National park of Kanha, the heritage monuments, the Tibetal forms of Art, hot springs of Narmada, national fossil park of Ghughua and the Sahastradhara.

The Tibtal art forms of Dadariya and Shaila Karma are performed with a lot of show and pomp. However, these forms of art are mainly performed in places like Kanha and Bhopal i.e. outside Chaughan. The National park of Kanha is home to around 130 tigers. The jungle lodges of this park provide great facilities.
The kingdom of Gond contains heritage monuments which are very valuable. The pottery artwork, sandalwood work, carvings and Rangoli are special features of the village festival here. The fossil park of Ghughua carries great importance for people who are interested in watching fossils. The meeting point of seven water bodies is known as Sahastradhara. It is a very auspicious place.

The months of October to March provide the best time duration for planning a visit to this gorgeous village. This village is linked to all the major cities with the help of different modes of transportation. According to their convenience, the tourists can use any mode of transportation like air, roadways and railways. The different hotels and resorts provide very good accommodation facilities.
