Jyotisar Village: the Olden Days of India

The Jyotisar village is situated in the region of Kurukshetra of Haryana. This is the same place where the great battle of Mahabharata was fought. Punjabi, Harayanvi, English and Hindi are the main languages spoken in this region. The residents of this village are mainly involved in artifacts like folk painting, wood carving, dari making and pottery making. This place holds memories of various ancient incidents in its womb. It is the village where Geeta, the famous Hindu epic was spoken by Lord Krishna.

Jyotisar village has a Banayan tree which is 5000 years old which allures many devotees from worldwide. They come here to see this great tree where Lord Krishna gave the famous speech to Arjuna in the form of Bhagvat Geeta to enlighten his path. It is truly a place which is worth to visit. The ground of Kurukshetra is another major landmark of Jyotisar because the famous battle of Mahabharata was fought on this ground. The Sarovar of Jyotisar village is a religious spot where Arjuna had dips before gaining the Geeta knowledge. People still like to come here during the lunar and solar eclipse for a dip. The tomb of Sheikh Chilli who is believed to be the dumbest man on earth, is also a renowned location among the tourists. The archeological site of Harsh ka Tila is mainly a place of interest for the history lovers.
