The Royal India Visit to Udaipur

The city of Udaipur is also known by the name of ‘City of Lakes’. The city lies on the west side of India in the state of Rajasthan. It is situated approximately 400 km far from Jaipur in the southwest direction and about 250 km from Kota in west direction. The city was founded by King Udai Singh II, in the year of 1559 as a capital city of the former Mewar Kingdom.

The Udaipur city was the historic capital of the Mewar Kingdom in the previous Rajputana Agency. In addition to its rich culture, history and picturesque locations, the city is also known for its forts of the Rajput – era. The city is also known as ‘Venice of the East’ due to its several luxurious hotels and lakes. There are several points of attraction in Udaipur. These are as follows.
  • The City Palace:
The palace is situated on the east bank of the Pichola Lake. It is a huge series of palaces and forts which was constructed at different times. The architecture of the City Palace is very majestic. From the balconies of the City Palace, the visitors can take panoramic views the Lake Palace Hotel. The main to the palace is through the Tripolia which is a triple arched gate. This was built in year 1725. The City Palace is very famous for its Mor-chowk, and chini chitrashala. The chini chitrashala is a sequence of wall paintings of Lord Krishna. It is now a hub for many antique paintings, articles and decorative furniture. This attracts a large number of histories and royalty lovers.

  • Lake Palace

    The Lake Palace is a royal fort which was constructed in between 1743-1746. It’s located on Jag Niwas Island which is in Pichola Lake. The palace seems very regal due to its marble carvings and it was originally built as a summer resort for royal families. It is now converted into a luxurious 5 Star hotel.
    Hence Udaipur is a must city to visit in Rajasthan to enjoy the royal India.
