The Bandipur National Park is placed in the state of Karnataka of Southern India. This park was constructed under the Project Tiger. In the past, this area was the personal hunting place for the king of Mysore. Although this National Park is renowned for its rich fauna resources but the main quality of this place is the dry deciduous forest.
The National Park of Bandipur expands over an area of 874 kilometers with a purpose of preserving the endangered species of wildlife. The park also offers habitat to different varieties of birds like the Indian rollers, red headed Vultures, crested serpent eagles, flower peckers, honey buzzards, hoopoes, changeable hawk eagles and brown fish owls. This park is home to various species of reptiles also. Some of the reptiles are rat snake, Indian Chameleon, agamids, monitor lizards, flying lizards, vipers, muggers, terrapin of Indian ponds and the cobra snake.
