Shantiniketan: A real beauty of West Bengal

The town of Shantiniketan is located in the district of Birbhum of West Bengal. It is placed at a distance of 180 kilometres from the city of Kolkata. The town is famous because of its connection with Nobel Laureate and well known poet Rabindranath Tagore. Shantiniketan is also popular for its gardens and parks. The deer Park is a well known park of the town which is lush green and beautiful. One can also find herds of deer and several varieties of birds here. This park is just like a natural bird sanctuary. In addition to this, the flavor of Bengali themed cuisine especially fish curry also attracts people to this town.
