Fatehpur Sikri is a peaceful city today where
you can spend time and enjoy the vacations in the best way. There was a time
when it was the capital of Great Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is a City which
expresses ideals of Akbar. Diwan-I-Khas, Buland Darwaza ,Saint Shiekh Salim
Chisti’s Tomb, Panch Mahal and Jama Masjid are the finest monuments of this
area.
The most excellent time to see this glorious
place is from the month of November to February. One can use Bus or can drive
also as it is only 204 km to Delhi. Therefore on reaching the airport in New Delhi, you can hire a private taxi or so to see the remarkable beauty
of the place.

Jama Masjid which is said to be Replica of
main mosque located in Mecca has persian design with Hindu elements. 54 m Tall
Buland Darwaza was on occasion of Akbar’s Gujarat victory. Even the Tomb of
Salim Shaikh Chisti was built in the year 1570. This carved lattice screen of
marble, known as Jalis is truly beautiful. The Tomb of Islam Khan is also in
the same courtyard.
From the historical viewpoint, the place of
Jodha Bai (who was Akbar’s Hindu wife and Salim’s mother) is a monument with
combination of Hindu and Muslim architecture style.
Other Important
places to visit are Birbal Bhawan ,
Panch Mahal, Palace of the Christian Wife , Diwan –I -Khas, Diwan-i-Alam,
Itmad-ud-daula,s Tomb, Chini-ka-rauza and Ram Bagh.
